Ukrainians express their gratitude to Ireland by giving back to the Irish community. Ukrainian Action organises regular events where Ukrainians come together in small groups to clean up canals and rivers.
We run the Ukraine Centre in partnership with Irish Red Cross to provide refugee individuals and families with a safe space, empowering them in solving community problems and improving the quality of community life, as well as facilitating their integration in Ireland.
In order to improve mental and physical health of the Ukrainians impacted by war, our team has organised hiking tours in a variety of destinations across Ireland. Thus strengthening Ukrainian community as well as showcasing the beautiful Irish nature.
For thousands of Ukrainians who found protection from war here, Ireland is a very new country. Guided tours in Ukrainian to different museums in Dublin and surroundings help newly arrived people better understand history and culture of Irish society. This project is implemented with support from the Community Foundation for Ireland.
Acting in the mutual interest of both Ukrainians and Irish society, we have a set of social media and other points of contact which we use to maintain bi-directional communication with the Ukrainian community.We leverage this relationship to conduct social studies, making the results publicly available. We are privileged to partner with the Embassy of Ukraine to Ireland, the Department of Foreign Affairs of Ireland, the Institute for International and European Affairs and the Embassy of United States to Ireland to organise high-level panel discussions on “Ensuring Accountability and Justice for International Crimes Committed by Russian in Ukraine” and “How Russian Propaganda and Disinformation Impacts Societies Worldwide” in Dublin. As a part of the event, we welcomed to Dublin Ukraine’s Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Oleksandra Matviychuk, Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine, international law experts, and experts in countering disinformation.
The project brings together Ukrainian women who are passionate about technology, eager to learn and keen to find new career opportunities in Ireland. We connect them with top professionals in the telecom sector from BT Ireland to share the career journey experience, hear motivational stories of how challenges in life could boost your career and empower women to apply for jobs in technology sector.
This is an integration project for Ukrainian and Irish youth of different ages. Its aim is to create long-lasting friendship between Ukrainian and Irish young people, to get acquainted and share the diverse cultures of both countries. The project is implemented in tandem between Ukrainian Action in Ireland and City of Dublin Youth Services.
